C.M.U.C.A.S. - Brno, Czech Republic
Masaryk University at Brno
Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic, with a population of around 400,000. The city is the main centre for the beautiful Moravia region in the south of the Republic, and lies only around 100 kilometres from Vienna in Austria.
The city has had almost 1,000 years of history as a major centre in central Europe, and today is an important transportation hub (with an international airport) and a major educational centre with a number of established universities specialising in various disciplines, attracting many international students.
Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic bearing the name of the first President of Czechoslovakia, is the most modern of the CMUCAS universities, both in the facilities provided and in the accommodation and other aspects of the city.
Most of the buildings are brand new or fully refurbished, with a number of development projects recently completed.
The University consists of nine faculties with over 190 departments. It is the largest in Moravia, with well over 30,000 students, and is one of the fastest-growing, most reputable higher education institutions in central Europe.
Masaryk is a world-recognised research university, and is rated second in the overall ranking of Czech higher education institutions, with more admission applications than any other.
The University has a number of international students and has an Office for International Studies to assist students with their specific issues.
As well as the full programmes in General Medicine, Masaryk is also one of the few universities to offer full Dentistry degree programmes taught entirely in English, with places reserved for CMUCAS students.
The degrees in General Medicine last six years, with the Dentistry degrees lasting five years. Both are regulated through a variety of tests and examinations, covering the full range of subjects across the disciplines.
Feedback from our recent students regarding the whole Brno Czech Republic experience has been very positive indeed.
